Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara Announced

If Capcom’s announcement of DuckTales Remastered at PAX East wasn’t enough to get retro gamers excited, they have also let slip that gamers will soon be able to relive two of their classic arcade beat ’em ups, Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom & Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara, as a double pack digital download titled Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara that will be coming soon to Xbox Live Arcade, Playstation Network, Nintendo’s WiiU eShop & Window’s PC.

Developed for Capcom by Iron Galaxy (also responsible for the re-releases of Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition, Marvel vs Capcom Origins and the recently released Darkstalkers Resurrection), Chronicles of Mystara will be in the similar vein of Iron Galaxy’s other releases for Capcom, with the game receiving a fresh coat of paint to touch it up for modern standards as opposed to the total remake that DuckTales will be receiving. Chronicles of Mystara will feature several improvements such as HD graphic filters to help with pixelation, seamless “drop in & out” online multiplayer for up to 4 players using the popular GGPO network code to help minimise lag, a new ‘House Rules’ system that will allow players to customize the game to their liking, a ‘Challenge’ system that will give players additional goals to work towards, as well as a slew of extras including original artwork from the D&D universe, the original arcade releases, etc.

Dungeons of Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara is set for a June release and will be priced at $14.99/€14.99/£11.99/1200MSP (Please note Australian pricing has not been 100% confirmed at this point in time).
