Gaming has been a massive part of my life since the early 80’s, growing up playing the Atari 2600, Commodore C64 and come to think about it every single system that has been released. It was only a matter of time that I would find my place working away in the gaming industry. Starting out back in 2006 my goal has been to create a gaming network, covering systems from the retro years to current.  The Console Domination Gaming Network or CDGN is just that. With a combined average of well over 20,000 + views per day the CDGN has grown much bigger then I ever thought possible. It has allowed me to expand the site out to a community of passionate gamers, placing them also in the line of fire so to speak interviewing and covering some of the biggest and major events her in Australia and overseas. 2013 will be bigger and better! If you live in the Melbourne area make sure you head out to PAX 2013 as the CDGN, Retro Domination Team will be there along with some of our international partners.

Favorite Consoles and Games : SNES, Sega Master System, Mega CD, Saturn, Dreamcast, Commodore 64. Street Fighter Series, Killer Instinct, Sam & Max, Full Throttle, Kings Quest, Gears of War Series, The list goes on and on.

I always had a passion for games even in my younger years, when I first received the Atari 2600, Pele Soccer was the flavor of the year, I played that game so much I actually started seeing top down soccer players in real life. My first real advanced gaming experience was when I received the Commodore Amiga 500, this is where adventure games took over my life, Sierra classics such as Police Quest, Space Quest, Kings Quest and the entire Leisure Suit Larry series dominated huge portions of my childhood. This is where I learnt how to type efficiently “open drawer” “have sex with lady” etc… I then discovered LUCASARTS, games such as Monkey Island, Loom, Day of the Tentacle and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis ruled the roost.

My love for gaming has only grown and now I am the ripe age of 33, being able to share my experiences with the world on our weekly Retro Domination Podcasts with my old friend Daz “insert Don’t Stop Believing by Journey”

Favorite games and consoles are NeoGeo AES, Xbox360, Shenmue (Dreamcast) and Mass Effect Series.

My journey with gaming began when I inherited my brother’s ‘Sheen’ console (a B&W console that played 5 versions of Pong). Of course, had absolutely no idea what I was doing but the seed was planted! When I turned seven, I was given an Atari 2600 (Vader model) with several games as a birthday present and I was in love! I also managed to con my parents into purchasing me a Commodore 64 to use “for school”, and to this day it has provided me with some of my most favourite gaming experiences!

As I grew older, the local arcades became my favourite place to pass the time and I spent many a 20 cent coin on some of my favourite games such as Double Dragon, Final Fight and Street Fighter II. When Capcom announced that it would be bringing port of Street Fighter 2 to the Super NES, I quickly started saving my lunch money and my obsession with console gaming would begin and still continues to this day!

Favourite Systems: Super NES, Commodore 64, Playstation, Dreamcast.

Favourite Games: Street Fighter series, Shinobi, Double Dragon, Final Fight, World of Warcraft.

A retro gamer at heart, Tim was a child of the 80’s, where bad jeans, mullets and cheesy pop music prevailed. But most importantly, it was the true beginning of console gaming. A time when Atari was king, and Sega and Nintendo would start its rivalry and Video Game arcades were everywhere.
His first introduction to games , was playing arcade machines at the local pub, perched upon a bar stool just to reach the controls, as his father looked nervously on, wondering how many more 20c coins he’d have to give out..

Favourite Consoles & Games: Shenmue, Ikaruga, Radiant Silvergun, The Ninja & Castlevania 4. My favourite system of all time is the Sega Master System!

My love of gaming started when my cousin bought over the Sega Master System. It was in that moment I found out what my greatest passion in life would be.

A year later my family finally got a Model II Master System and my never ending journey in gaming began. I started playing RPGs when my family and I hired out a legendary game by the name of Phantasy Star. Having witnessed this grand space opera adventure it changed my life and after the credits rolled I knew right then and there that RPGs was to be my favourite genre.

Throughout the years I have been blessed to play RPGs in many different ways. From consoles to handhelds to PCs. I’ve played Action RPGs, Strategy RPGs, Roguelikes, 1st person Dungeon Crawlers, MMOs, PC RPGs and of course traditional JRPGs. I’ve witnessed the genre grow and evolve over the course of 23 years and I’ve enjoyed being apart of it every step of the way. In 2009 I decided to share my passion and knowledge for RPGs by creating videos for Youtube.

With joining Retro Domination I will continue to share my knowledge of RPGs and help spark some interest for RPGs forgotten in time!

Besides RPGs I enjoy Action/Adventure games, Platformers, Beat/Slash em ups and Fighting games (I’ve lost many years to the Dead or Alive series lol).

Favorite Gaming Platforms: Sega Master System, Sega Megadrive, Sega Saturn, Super Nintendo, Playstation (Psone), Game Boy Advance and the PSP.
Favorite Games: Suikoden series, Ys Series, Phantasy Star series, Dragon Quest series, Shining Force Series, Fire Emblem series, Terranigma, Persona series, Golden Sun series, Castlevania series, Legend of Zelda series, Metal Gear Solid series, Wonderboy series, Dead or alive series and the Warriors franchise.

I’m a Commodore kid at heart. I grew up with the Commodore 64 and later graduated to the Amiga 500 and finally the Amiga 2000HD. While I was never really a console gamer, I made up for it by thrashing the absolute bollocks out of the entire catalogue of Amiga and C64 games, everything from Turrican to Rainbow Islands with deep 3AM sessions of Civilization thrown in for good measure. When I got older, my love of all things gaming manifested through writing. I started off haunting gaming forums with random words about this or that, eventually getting paid work writing for Atomic ‘Maximum Power Computing’, VIA Technologies, the now defunct Game Player website and Derwent Howard publishing. Now, I look back on my gaming childhood with feelings that can only be described as ‘Retromania’. I collect the systems, I play the games, I write the words. I’ve got more respect for the world of 8, 16 and 32 bits than is probably healthy, and my aim in life is to infect you with the same crazed appreciation.

Favorite Consoles and Games :  Amiga CD32, Neo Geo AES, Vectrex, Commodore 64, Amiga 500. Civilization, Codemasters ‘Vampire’, Turrican, Street Fighter 2, Defender of the Crown and Heroes Quest.
